Hi,

The QSK on the TS-590 is actually quite quiet unless you are running
it through something like the ARB704 relay box to isolate it from a
linear amp or through an external antenna tuner that has relay
protection. Check menu 53 and set it to 0. You'll be surprised at
how quiet QSK is. I use an ARB704 and an MFJ998 and the QSK can be
pretty daunting. I wear headphones when operating partly to get
around the QSK noise, but the noise isn't from the TS-590, it's from
the relays in other equipment. I used a Tentec Omni for years and it
was an excellent QSK rig, but I don't think it's keying relay was any
quieter than the one in the TS-590 when Menu 53 is set to 0.

73,

Dave, W7OQ
