That's what I thought, which I was a bit surprised at the 16 amp output for
the PS53.  If I'm interpreting them correctly, the TS590 spects say that on
high power, the rig uses less than 20 amps, but I'm not sure exactly what
that means.

You are encouraging me to just give the PS53 a try here, to see what
happens.

Tom,

I am using said Kenwood power supply with my TS-590.  It was originally
purchased to go with my TS-570.

Both radios are 100 watt radios.
