Well, I have checked and double checked absolutely everything, and I just
cannot get this TS-590 transmit to put out one single watt. I checked
everything anyone of you suggested and have gone completely through the
manual checking everything that could remotely be a possible problem. I
double checked the power supply, and it is putting out exactly 13.8 volts,
and it is a 28 amp supply which is more than sufficient. I connected it up
to a dummy load just to see what would happen, and nothing changed. The
receiver mutes and the receive/transmit light changes from green to red when
in transmit like it should. So, regretfully, it looks like this transceiver
is headed back to R&L Electronics or wherever I have to send it to be
repaired. I have owned several Kenwood transceivers over the years, and I've
loved them all, but this is the first one I have ever had any problems with.
