They need a 110 foot tower to put what, wireless internet equipment on? Not
sure what a dish foot is, or a "simese" coax and power cable...
Lots of 110FT self supporting towers out there...venders like USA towers,
Texas Towers
Why, pray tell, do they need cameras on a 110FT self supporting tower?
Bird watching perhaps?
How much equipment is going up? are they going to want to add commercial
antennas for rental purposes? What kind of wind load does the tower need to
be able to handle? What is the over all purpose of this tower and does it
have to be 110ft for a specific reason?
If they are plopping some light data link gear on it, it could be a smaller
style, but if they want to maximize profitability with commercial antennas
on site, then it has to be a pretty hefty tower costing 10s of thousands.
Maintenance, installation and permits are all factors to consider...it's not
a simple undertaking to just throw up a 110 foot self supporting
tower...especially if your just going to be putting a couple intigrated link
style boxes on it.
If this is a Parish/county undertaking, then I hope someone has thought of
putting up something hefty and installing a bunch of arrays on it to
maximize commercial rental potential. 110 feet allows for a considerable
foot print and companies will pay pretty decent money to have access to
that.
Obviously you have your local amateur radio club informed to accomidate a
couple antennas for ham gear right? for emergency purposes naturally lol.
The great thing about a brand new tower install is that it doesn't cost much
more, and doesn't take that much more time to add a couple 4 bay arrays on
the tower for ham use...or multi-cupple some commercial antennas that are
bringing in rental revenue on to the ham gear.
