I'd like to comment on the financial aspects of acquiring an iPhone
rather than on the technical issues, which I think Ana has addressed
quite objectively. While iPhones may be costly, phone carriers often
have deals to allow you to pay off your phone, whether it is running
Android or iOS, on a monthly basis, rather than forcing consumers to pay
the entire cost up front. Therefore, I would advise your friend to
contact his/her local phone carrier and other carriers to investigate
what options are available.
