	Tom,

Don't have this amp, but you would set  bandswitch to remote position if 
you were using the optional  auto bandswitching stuff that lets the amp 
follow the radio's frequency.

This was a more recent addition to the ALS-600 and  wasn't around  in 
first production  years.  Don't know what year  it was added.
