Mike,
I've never used any of his contest software, but I know Scott sometimes
has some "non standard" entries.
I live in Delaware county Pennsylvania, and in the PA QSO party, the
official abbreviation is "DCO". Every year I have to deal with a few
stations who tell me that their software won't accept it, and it is
always N3FJP users.
As Lloyd mentioned, the thing that really matters is what shows in your
cabrillo file sent to the contest sponsers.
