Subject: speaking of 10M transceivers
I ran across this Alinco 10M all mode transceiver today while looking at =
the amateur radio kits from Ramsey on the cheap ham website:
http://www.cheapham.com/alinco-dx-10-10-meter-all-mode-transceiver/
It=E2=80=99s a real amateur 10M transceiver. It does allow for memory =
channels, and you can transfer memory to VFO, which means if you have a =
few memory channels set up, you can hit a button and you can go to the = VFO
at that frequency with the memory channels power and mode settings =
etc...this allows some accessibility and a reference point to where you =
want to tune up or down on the band from a known point.
You can also preprogram your FM repeaters and SSB call frequencies etc.
Power is only 25W on SSB, but you can pickup so called 10M (11m cb) = liniar
amplifiers in the 300 watt range for $150 or so and have high = output etc.
I use a cobra 350W amp with my RCI2950 and with my power supply =
restrictions, I can get a good solid 125 out on 10 with no issues. I = got
the amp from a guy for $50 and the radio for $20...so if I had a = large
power supply or a big battery, I could have a 300 watt plus = transmitter on
10M for under $100 lol.
Anyway, just a thought as this Alinco is only $229 and seems fairly = simple
and can be used by a blind person without too much difficulty.
