Hi all,
Well folks, after my windows pc has locked and froze up on me 30 times
in the last 10 months, and wasted valuable work time, I am getting rid
of this piece of junk.
Now it's been a great machine, had it for 7 years now, bought it used
from a friend, who takes great care of his computers.
I'm thinking about getting a MacBook or MacBook Pro.
My questions are these:
1. I want to do web browsing and email, which I know can be done on the
Mac, so there, I'm all set. However, I also do alot of audio editing,
and I ask, can I do that on the mac? using what program? I want to be
able to edit files, like I can currently do using Studio Recorder, from APH.
I have to be able to insert audio into files, take audio out of files,
and also, I have to be able to go to exact spots in files. For example,
if I want to go to 25 minutes and 10 seconds in an audio file, I have to
be able to do that, on a Mac, using some kind of audio editing program.
Can I do that?
2. Another question is, what about radio stations that use Flash player?
Right now, I have no problems, getting stations on my Windows pc, using
flash player, and many stations use flash.
3. Another question is, what about OCR scanning of print documents like
mail, or books, etc?
I am not going to do this, until after the WWDC, in June. I heard that
Apple will be coming out with better MacBooks and MacBook pros, now who
knows if it's true, but if it is, I will wait, till that happens.
However, if I can't do on my Mac, what I hope I can do, then I will just
get a new windows laptop.
Harry
