Digit-Eyes does work better on newer iPhones, which have better cameras. 
it also works better on older iPhones with light cases (i.e., battery 
cases that also include a torch you can switch on to pretend you have 
flash).

I wouldn't expect bar codes to include expiration dates. Bar codes lead 
to information about the product. Expiration dates are associated with 
specific product lots.

I don't use Digit-Eyes, so I can't comment on bardes for prescription 
drugs. I would think making a label would be better anyway since the bar 
code wouldn't include information that's specific to you, like how many 
times a day you need to take it or whether your physician thinks you 
should take it in the morning or at night.
