Hi All,

I use Thunderbird to read email on my Windows 7 netbook. While I'm still
figuring bits and pieces out, I generally like the application and find
it fairly accessible with Jaws 12.

One problem I'm having is identifying and finding unread messages. When
I scroll through the table of messages, Jaws doesn't announce which ones
are read or unread. Since I have a vague memory that the screen reader
used to announce this information, I initially thought Jaws was not
doing its job. Now I'm thinking the problem is Thunderbird itself
because, when I hit the letter N to jump to the next unread message,
focus tends to skip messages I know I haven't read. What seems to be
happening is that unread messages mysteriously become read messages when
I exit the app, but I'm only guessing because this doesn't happen all
the time.

Does anyone have any ideas about what may be going on or suggestions
about how to keep my unread messages unread? I've been poking through
the settings, and nothing jumps out at me as needing to be changed.

Ciao
