Alan,

Good for you.  You've gotten to the pearl in the shell.  Satisfying one's 
soul while still breathing air and the capacity to appreciate that 
satisfaction is part of the joy of being on the planet. Your friend Stan is 
achieving a dream, without trampling anyone else along the way.  Good for 
him too.
