Brad,
I'm honored! You gave up some of the game to write to me? Wow! I hope
that it was the first quarter. That's the one that is worth forgetting!
Yah, I think that fear and pride has a lot to do with the
emotional freezer around here. Maine is a lot like the U.P. There are
lots of small towns that evolve around a few main clans so outsiders are
noticed. The people keep to themselves because all of their social needs
are met by the family clan. Poverty and poor education does not help in
the area of self esteme either. The people here are very independent.
The idea of coming together as a church community is truly a huge mental
burier. Plus, they like hockey more than football around here and the
people that do like football mostly root for the Patriots! I know that
that really has nothing to do with it, but it was fun to throw it in
anyway.
