The accronym is Y L for young lady, and X Y L for wife,
There is a joke in there, that I won't comment on.
Does that make a divorced wife an X X Y L?
Oh I just did.
The qsyer is a device that makes some radios accessible that aren't out of
the box.

Thanks Mike, appreciate your input.
I don't have an amp so am not likely to be doing anything along those
lines.= What is a qsyer, by the way.
also, I've heard you reference the acronym XYL. What does this mean?
Guess I'll just have to get a sightling to do the menu settings and then
jus= t show me the basic operation of the thing.
thanks

0. When I had mine, the Yaesu control program wasn't accessible and Ham
Radi= o Delux couldn't program the rig either. I simply got my XYL to set up
the r= ig the way I wanted with regards to the menu settings and went from
there.=20=

FT-450 Yahoo group, they were very helpful for me getting started. I never
r= eally cared to mess around with the menu settings after initial set up as
I h= ad no problems with controlling the power output to drive my amp with
the se= tdial option then the DSP button select knob combo. You might want
to explor= e a QSYer but I think this may take up an accessory plug that
runs an amp. =20=
