My dos pesos:
I've used the MSE for several years on a Windows 7 desktop. I let it set
up in it's default configuration, and it does a quick scan once a week.
A couple of times it has found and removed something or other.
I should probably do this more often, but every so often, I start the
program manually and do a full scan. There have been 2 times when
it found something in the full scan that may have eluded the quick scan.
I can't be 100 percent sure of this, but a full scan every so often
might be a good idea.
BTW, last week I got the plaque from the Virginia QSO party for high
score outside Virginia. This is the fourth year in a row. Maybe I'm
the only one outside VA sending in a log.
I'm hearing 6 meters open now to MO, KS, and OK from south eastern PA.
