Thanks Doug for your responding to my request for assistance in getting the
beeps turned back on my TM-V71A. Actually, the last thing I did before I
went to bed last night was to go back into my folder for the TM-V71A and
look over the several files, and when I opened up the file I have on the
various menu settings, the very first menu setting was the 0 0 0 setting
that turned the beeps on and off. What is strange is that when I looked
through the manual, I didn't see any mention of it. Anyway, this morning I
read your message and followed your instructions and bingo! The beeps are
back on my rig again!! All is good again in the neighborhood!!

Good evening, Ron. In order to turn the beeps back on, go to menu 0 0 0. You
will see two choices. They are on and off. Select on. Now, you won't hear a
beep. However, after pressing and releasing the v f o knob and exiting menus
by pressing and releasing the function key, all of your beeps should be
restored, including the beeps when you turn your t m v 71 a back on. I hope
this helps you. Let me or someone on the list know. Have a happy and safe
Memorial Day holiday weekend. Doug, N6NFF

I messed up my TM-V71A today, and I don't know how to undo what I did. I was
trying to program a frequency into one of the memory channels. Somehow I
managed to turn off the beeps that you normally hear when you turn the radio
on and off. I remember getting into something that caused my speech to say
"on" and "off" when I pressed the very bottom right button on my mike and
the lb key immediately to the left of it. I hope I am making enough sense so
you can understand what I messed up and you can tell me how to put it back
the way it should be or the way it was.

I just went completely through the copy of the manual I have for the
TM-V71A, and I do not see any reference to this situation at all.

Can anyone here tell me how to restore the beeps when I turn my transceiver
on and off???
