This was certainly true on one of the Pacific DX peditions with a 160M
vertical fracturing. Can't recall which one, but it was some several years
ago.
They have improved their mechanical stability since then.

I had a titon up in vegas, think that is the one. The one I had had a
loop counter poise at the bottom which mostly effected 40. It worked
well, but is not easy to put together, not at all. Also, you need to
guy it and I still had some problems mechanicly with mine. It did work
