Thank you for the reminder. When I was back from the chapter meeting and 
read your message, I turned on the rig at about 2130Z and heard C6ATA in the 
Bahamas. Worked him. In the next half hour I also worked NP4A, Puerto Rico. 
The FT950 runs something less than 100 watts on 6 meters, but my antenna is 
the KT34XA, which has no deliberately resonant elements on 6 meters, but is 
up 60 feet. I have only worked a few countries with this setup, but it's fun 
when it happens. I won't be on in the contest all that much, but it is 
certainly a good time to look for activity, and signals from stations with 
real antennas from all across the US and beyond.

Subject: VHF Contest about to begin

If the band opens, I hope to find some from this list on 6 meters
during the VHF contest this weekend.

The contest begins at 1800Z.

So far today, 6 has been pretty quiet, with only a few signals breaking
through briefly. But you know how a band can wake up for a contest, so
keep your fingers crossed.
