When I was a kid they were on WIND a 5k station at 560 KC.  And they 
ran a pattern at night with almost no eastern coverage.  They are 
still located in Gary Indiana, 35 miles east of Chicago.  And the Sox 
were on WCFL at 1000 KC, (old term) 50 kilowatt but a protective 
pattern at night.  Not being a Cubs fan I don't know when they sprung 
up on WGN.
