Hi,
I've seen this behavior before in Word 2010.  While there's certainly 
nothing wrong with maximizing its window, playing with the zoom factor will 
make a difference.  Try setting zoom to page width and/or 100% and  test it 
again.  Stay away from a zoom factor of multiple pages.
