I guess I haven't been as vigilent with this as I should have been.

Tom,

When you notice some new or strange behavior on your computer, it pays to
go the the add/remove programs list and see what may have just 
installed.   Each program listed will also show  it's date.

Yesterday for some strange reason, Google Chrome showed up.   I went to 
add/remove programs, and there it was, with  yesterday's date.   I 
didn't instal anything, but there it was.

You don't want to uninstall programs willy nilly, but when you see a newly
installed program like "coupon saver", or "shopaholic", get rid of it.
