Hi Kent,
We have been quite pleased with the THF6A Kenwood handheld radio. When my
wife Gerrie got her license she purchased the THF6A. While she waited for
her license to arrive I got to get my hands on her new radio. I liked it so
much that I bought one for myself, that was several years ago and both
radios are working wonderfully well. It can be easily programmed from the
radio itself, and you can connect it to your computer and program by using
the RT Systems software or with the Kenwood software.
Hope this answers your questions, I think the THF6A is still in production
and can be purchased from many of the ham radio stores.
Many of us on the Blind Hams list have this radio and will be, i am sure,
happy to answer any questions you might have.
Best 73's,
Albert, WA7FXB
