Thanks, but their isn't any comport to reset the number to.
I think I will try the proceedure with out the USB keyboard and see how it
goes.
Then I'll try it on another computer.
I think I will wait until after Passover Seder, which is today, and kind of
like Thanksgiving, but the 4 cups of wine are prescribed.

On my Windows 7 desktop in Device Manager, under"ports comm and LPT"  it
shows as "Silicone Labs CP210X USB to UART Bridge (com 2)".


I think Tom KB8TYJ had problems installing this software on a notebook 
pc some time ago.

You could always try running the software and keep  resetting the comm 
port to a higher number in the software and see if it  connects.

If I remember  right, they recommend     connecting direct to a  "real" 
USB port on the computer  and not through a hub.


The software will work fine on a USB to serial adapter connected to the 
serial port on the radio.    The radio's serial and comm ports are 
independent of each other and  you can actually run 2 programs at the 
same time.

  Do you see the USB audio device listed in the Windows audio devices? 
   When you turnd DC power to the radio either onn or off, do you hear 
the Windows  sound that means a USB device has connected or disconnected?

Also, while I think the software is the same for both models, did you 
get the comm driver  listed under the  correct model for your radio, 
either 590s, or 590sg?
