I have a celiac coworker that hoped you might shed some light for her on the gluten-free status of Omission brand beer. The company claims the beer is gluten free, but they do use barley in the recipe. I believe the claim is that they use a distillation process that eliminates virtually all the gluten. I'm a skeptic about things like this, but don't really know what the science proves about whether distillation truly can eliminate gluten. I'm happy to steer clear of products like this to safeguard my health, but I realize that some of us miss those delicious beverages and dishes from our pre-celiac lives (for me there has never been a pre-celiac life).
If you have some reliable information or articles that would shed light on this issue, we would greatly appreciate it-and I'll summarize for the list so others might benefit.
