The thing is, wbbm and wgn have about the same coverage area, so it might
work.
The other thing is that wscr and wbbm are owned by the same company.
One has the sox and the other the cubs. The sox contract runs out at the
end of 2015, so it all should be interesting.
I wonder how long it will take Pat Hughes to identify WGN?
He has been saying WGN since he left the Brewers in 1994 I think.

I think it is a decision the Cubs will ultimately regret. The Astros made
the same mistake in the early 80's when they went to what was then 1070
KENR. Their nighttime direction pattern was so narrow that they hardly got
out at all, and they had to put the nighttime games on their FM rock station
KRBE which made that staff and audience very unhappy. They only remained
with them for one contract before returning to KPRC, but they are now on
KTRH. I think the same thing will happen with the Cubs.

Something I read said that the Cubs were looking for more money than WGN was
willing to spend and WBBM bought in to it. Cubs on A M - news on F M. So
on nights when I need the news to put me to sleep and the Cubs are on the
West Coast, it's F M for me. The Cubs should make me sleepy but just piss
me off!
