It was precisely because of problems in the Northern part of the country
that the experiment with year round daylight saving time in 1974 failed
miserably.  So extended daylight saving time's problems far outweigh its
so-called advantages.

Harvey, besides that, we get an extra hour of higher frequency HF operation
after work.  That keeps 20 meters and up open longer in to the evening.
Now that's a good enough reason to agree to get up an hour earlier.
Its all about me after all!
