I have a vanity call sign and I was one of the first ones to get a vanity
call when the extra gate was opened up by the FCC. I mailed my paperwork
into the FCC on Friday and the FCC issued my new vanity call sign on
Monday. I never heard of the FCC issueing a call sign that fast before. My
old call sign was AC4UN and I hated that call as people thought I had some
connection to the united nations. So, I was happy to to get the vanity
call of W4HC.
