Please respond to Tom's request for recommendations on where and how to seel
used ham gear here on the list since it is of interest to all of us. I am
thinking of the same thing that Tom is considering.

I have a TenTec Jupitor that I plan to sell along with a MFJ 1000 watt
antenna tuner.

Subject: Advice Needed On Best Way To Sell Used Ham Gear

Hi again, everyone.

If I actually am going to go through with the purchase of an external
auto-tuner and a solid-state amplifier like the ALS600 or ALS1300 for my
home station, I'm going to have to get rid of some of my current ham gear to
fund the project.

One option, of course, would be to work through a dealer like HRO, AES, or R
and L, to see if they would take my used gear as a trade to help defray the
costs of the new gear.

My other option, of course, would be to sell the stuff on line via e-ham,
e-bay, or another venue.

Specifically, I'm considering selling my Tentech 238A manual tuner, and my
Ameritron AL811H which has a matched quad of 572B's and an extra set of 811
tubes. I'm also considering parting with a Tentec Scout 555 HF rig that I
picked up from an estate sale several years ago, and have never used. The
Scout has all 9 HF band modules, and is in excellent condition.

My goal, of course, is to move this equipment as efficiently as possible,
and to get the most amount of money for it that I can.

I know that I'm going to get varying opinions on how best to proceed with
all of this, but, as they say, you've got to start somewhere.

I am assuming that responses via the list would be appropriate, since others
may benefit from the knowledge of those who have successfully done this sort
of thing before.

However, if anyone wants to respond privately, that's fine too. My private
e-mail is:

Thanks as always!
