I found this "spin" message from SaraTech very interesting, more for what it
didn't say than for what it did . In reference to the first message that
went out, this latter announcement verifies that the podcast and the people
associated with the podcast are all out, except for Jamie. Further, I find
it most interesting that there is absolutely no direct reference to
SaraTech's loyalty or continued dedication to their core market: the
blindness community or blindness-related products. It sounds like they are
scaling substantially down, reducing overhead and expenses in an effort to
avoid total bankruptcy. It also sounds like they are planning on
re-positioning the firm and its mission; though there is no direct
indication in what direction that re-positioning might go.
Like I stated, there is more in what it doesn't say than what it does, and
it tends to raise more questions than it answers. In short, it is far from
forthright.
