Scott,

You can configure to  accept  or reject whatever you want: zone, band, 
mode, country, and a bunch of other stuff.  I usually have mine set to 
accept spots sent by stations in zone 5, and to reject  spots of 
stations in the USA.
	
If you don't set some sort of filter, you will be bombarded  with all 
kinds of junk, like 2 meter spots from central Europe.
