The record button is opposite the volume up, but otherwise, you're correct
about the stream design.

The flimsy case that comes with the new Stream is as deficient as you
suggest. However the Executive Products case does have a flap that will fold
around to cover the keys when you don't want them exposed. It also includes
a covered belt clip.
