Welcome to all of the new people on our Blind Hams' list. As you will soon
realize, we are a wide ranging group in terms of our skill sets. We have
people who are interested in ham radio but not yet licensed hams; people who
have just recently obtained their licenses, some who have been hams for a
few years, and some of the rest of us that have been hams for many years. In
like manner, our range of electronic knowledge is just as diverse. However,
everyone is welcome, and there is no such thing as a stupid question here,
and if there is something you need help with, just ask. Conversely, if you
have knowledge about the varied topics that come up, we certainly invite you
to contribute.
In my personal case, I have been a licensed ham since 1957, 58 years, and I
am an Extra Class license holder. While I can tell you what the final tubes
were in the HeathKit DX-100, I don't have a clue about how the digital
signal processor works in my TS-590. So, I think you get my point; i.e. a
lot of us know about a lot of things, but none of us know about everything!
