Here is what I have in my notes.

OnI thought this was a menu choice, but it is not.  To mute or attenuate 
the band you're not using press function low to turn this mode on or off.
If I remember right, you press function then low, not at the same time.  I 
just tried it on my radio, press function then press transmit power 
button, this will put other vfo at about half volume while transmitting 
and receiving on main one.  Doing this again puts it back to normal.
