When I was in 8th grade about 1967, we lived near a radio station in
Endicott Ny. I had a cristle radio and I recorded from it, it was
fantastic. The radio was a box, with a big coile, and a slider with a
ball like thing connected to it. You slid it for best results, you had
pins for hed phones and antenna. I stuck wires with clips on them and
recorded on a VM recorder.
Mom also bought us pen like radios, the one end slid in or out it
looked like the clicker on a pen. The wires for the hedphones, and
antenna were in the center, where the pen might unscrew.
The quality of the musick was really good.
