Richard, it largly depends on the node. If the echolink node is echolink
only, entering the four, five or six diget number will work. If the node is
a combination IRLP/echolink node, you may have to enter the pound key
followed by the echolink node you wish to connect to. Some nodes are not
open to the entire ham community. They require a set of prefix numbers
before dialing the IRLP OR echolink node. Theese prefix numbers are
generally not made public. The best thing to do is to find out who the node
owner is. He or she can tell you whether or not the node is open to all hams
or not. He or she can also tell youhow to use the node they are in charge
of. I hope this helps. If I left something out, other listers please feel
free to chime in with your nickle's worth! 73. Doug, N6NFF

Subject: How Do I Enter Tones on My Kenwood TS-2000 to Bring-up an EchoLink
Node on a Repeater?
Hi!
Basically, suppose I am on a 2M repeater, correctly using it with its PL
tones, how then do I enter DTMF tones to bring-up a particular EchoLink
node? Note that this question is not about the repeater's PL tone. It is
about how to enter tones on the rig's numeric number pad (I think) which
then cause the repeater to bring-up a particular EchoLink node. Of course,
this relates to a repeater which in fact does have an EchoLink connection.
