Have any of you ever did or said something that turned out to be so
brain-dead stupid that you shocked yourself that you did or said it? Well, I
had one of those moments here today. Why in the hell I even thought of using
a DC to AC inverter to get 120 volts AC in order to run my TS-590 is so
totally beyond me that I cannot comprehend that I was the one who wrote it!
If there was ever any proof that Ph.D's do and say stupid stuff, well, what
can I say? <lol>

Of course, the TS-590 runs very nicely off a 12-volt battery, and of course,
that is precisely how I would connect it up; that is, directly to my two
deepcycle batteries, and I would still run a jumper cable over to the
deepcycles from my cranking battery since the alternator of my Suzuki keeps
my engine battery charged, just like in a automobile.

However, given what Dave told me, based upon the experience of his friend
who is traversing the globe in his 40 foot yacht, the power from the three
batteries, plus that alternator, still might not be enough to power the
TS-590, or at least, not for a very long time. I guess I need a large bank
of solar cells in the mix! <lol>
