Lou, it's when I listen on Am mode.  If the WWV station is really strong it
is distorted.  I have messed with the RF gain and the various attenuation
settings but it still sounds pretty crappy.  Jim WA6EKS

Jim,

Is it constant distortion or does it come and go? I'm thinking of selective
fading where the carrier is canceled out and that would explain why it
sounds ok in SSB where the product detector provides the carrier. Lou
