ugh! someone please reconfigure this mailing list. all those "=" signs are enough to cause frustration.

for the first poster before Alan, I have a question or 2.
1. what version of OS X are you running there?
2. is that safari or chrome (I have never been able to get opera or firefox to work properly)?

I run Lion (OS X 10.7.5) here. I also run the latest supported safari and chrome browsers. these are still a few revisions behind the current releases. unfortunately, I am not made of money here or I would upgrade to a much later macbook than I have.
