Hi Rob,
The repeater that you click enter on will announce your call sign to the
public on their end.
It is customary to wait until reconized. As for searches, you can only
search for callsign on the repeater or individual callsign or node number.
Nothing else. Gary KB2YAA

Subject: So, this new fangled EchoLink
So just to cut to the chase, I want to have a QSO with someone, anyone. Is
it cool to just find a repeater, say in Aims Iowa, hit enter, if there's
conversation I wait until they're through and can I just give my callsign
and say I'm monitoring? Is there some hidden Echolink etiquette I need to be
made aware of? If I want to find a repeater in my local area, do I just type
in the city name? Okay that's it for now, just don't want to bust in on some
repeater and look like a total newb, even though I am. Lol
73s and thanks for the help in advance.
