Two blind friends of mine have one of those, and love it.  They put the 
burners on low, and learned to orient the pan from two of the stove edges. 
Since the burners don't move, they memorized the locations.  They basically 
triangulate the burners.
They take a bit of time to get hot on low.  Wet your fingers in ice water 
while exploring, so your fingers have to get hot before burning.
