Bob,
I chose the LDG AT-1000 because I wanted an auto tuner which would handle the 600 watts I can get from my AL-811H. I decided against the MFJ because I've heard reports of somewhat poor construction, and just didn't want to take the chance.
I'm hap0py with my AT-1000, and use it even when I'm not running the amplifier because it tunes my antenna better than any of the internal tuners I've seen.
Steve
