Hi.
I used to have a TS-2000, and it had the correct offset for 440 Mhz. Also,
you are correct that the usual offset for 440 is 5 Mhz, but your problem may
be the frequency you're using. Most repeaters have a positive offset, so,
for example, a repeater on 444.5 would have a plus 5 Mhz offset, with the
input on 449.5. Keep in mind, however, there are always exceptions to the
rule.
