Back a year or so ago when this question came up before about the
accessibility of the QRZ website, I took it upon myself to contact Fred on
behalf of the members of our Blind Hams list. I wrote him a very congenial,
tactful message that commended him for the excellent service he provided all
hams around the world. I indicated, however, that several of the blind hams
were having trouble accessing all of the features of his website. However, I
do not believe in simply criticizing something or someone unless I am
prepared for to render a recommendation and/or solution. Therefore, I
offered to put together a small group of knowledgeable blind hams that would
be willing to assist him in making the slight revisions to his website to
facilitate its access by blind hams. His response was not at all friendly.
To the contrary, he made it quite clear that he was not interested in doing
anything to his site. He cited security reasons, and he was not interested
in any continued exchanges on the issue.

tried sending a question to their info address (as well as the owners =
address).

the response I got back was terse and obtuse.

Basically, citing security concerns about hackers, etc., he was not = going
to change anything about the site. Basically he was talking about = the
database and never addressed the issues with the web interface = (which has
little to do with the database).

basically, he will not change it or offer much in the way of useful = help.

too bad, I always thought of him as a respectable ham on the air.
