and this is a really good and rather common example of why it's not always
best practice to implement full automation into your screening systems as an
employer.
Nothing beats a human looking at that application or resume and making a
real decision.
In my work we partially automate the screening and aplication system, but at
the end of the day, the final decisions about applicants is made by a human
and not a computer.
This process of keying your resume is rediculous in the extreme, but in the
last 5 years it's become a necesity.
they teach it in any kind of resume writing course and career councelling
and all that. It's a terrible system because someone can simply key their
resume and get an interview without necesarily being the best fit for the
job. Something that can be determined by a human screener.
So automation while helpful as a tool to increase productivity and
efficiency, should not be used to necesarily replace a living breathing
person in every circumstance.
