Thank you to those who responded to my questions about Sjorgrens and Celiac.

Many who responded had dry eyes with Celiac but had no dry mouth. So felt it seems like possibly a common Celiac thing. Some had been tested and tested negative for Sjorgrens and others had not tested for Sjorgrens at all. My eye doc said 86% of population has dry eye.

A few responders had both issues or had relatives with only Sjorgrens and not Celiac.

One person stated people with Celiac often have up to 7 other autoimmune problems in a lifetime.

A good reset for the body was suggested is doing the AIP diet for 6-12 weeks. (Autoimmune protocol diet) It is a stricter variation of Paleo. Eliminating foods that most often cause inflammation. Then reintroducing them one by one and seeing how you react.

Some people with Sjorgrens treated their disease with oral medication prescribed by their doctor while others simply treated the symptoms of dry eye and or dry mouth.

The test for Sjorgrens was often referred to as unreliable so often hard to get an accurate diagnosis.

Thanks for all the responses. I'll be talking to my doc at the beginning of 2017 at my annual. My dry eye is doing much better after using drops and putting a hot compress on for 12 min a day (I got a gel one with little beads at Walmart to put over the eyes) then heat it up for 15 sec in microwave. After the 12 min I message on the eyelids/eyelash area up and down vertically to open up the oil glands.
I also take fish oil now and have tried the autoimmune diet. I'll probably do it till Christmas Day. I know I'll cave that day and eat a few items not on the ok list--but still GF of course. :)

Good health to all!! Merry Christmas too!
