This is fasenating to me Paul and I appreciate your telling me all that. I
got what information I have about the song of solomon from tapes of a
seminar these women who wrote the book Intimate issues have available.
What they have done is to try and write a book for christian women about sex
and they use info from the bible. They tell clearly what is forbidden in
scripture but they use references from the song of solomon concerning the
shulamite and her husband to show that their is nothing wrong with a healthy
sexual want for one's marage partner.
I'll include my notes from these tapes below. Since my notes were not
intended for anyone else's eyes, I did not mind the spellings and believe it
or not I do try to mind my spelling otherwise. Although sometimes I fail
drastically.
Following are the notes from the Intimate issue's seminar tapes, a seminar
given for women only I think.
Ask yourself 3 questions about the act you wonder about,
First
Is it forbidden in scripture?
second
Is it benificial?
third
Does it involve anyone else?
10 prohibitations found in scripture.
1 fornication which is amoral sex.
2 adultrey. This doesn't just include physical acts but emotional acts in
the mind and heart.
3 Homosexuality
4 Impurity The greek she points out for impurity involves losing one's
verginity or to become impure through living a secular or pagan lifestyle.
5 Orgeies
6 Prostitution
7 Lustful passions, sexual desire for one another in marage is ok but this
refers to
An unrestrained indescriminant sexual desire for man or woman other than
one's marage partner.
8 sodomy, refers to man with man or man with animals.
9 obsenity and corse jokes.
