It's funny, usually with in 2 years I'm looking at the latest radios and
thinking I wanted a new one. I've had the TS-2000 for 6 years now and have
absolutely no desire for a new one. I know the earlier ones were a little
down on VHF/UHF receive but that was fixed before mine ever came out. I
don't use it on VHF mainly because my wife is intimidated by the radio and
she's a tech so I have a TM-271 hooked up on vhf for now though I have run
it on VHF in the past. Once I get the 13 element beam up that will be hooked
to the TS-2000 and I'll go back to using it there the little I'm on and my
wife can have the other radio. Before she became a ham and even for a long
time after, I ran the TS-2000 everywhere. I'll never afford a newer radio so
this will likely be the first radio I actually wear out but that's fine, I'm
still happy with it.
