Mark, the 2000 is a great radio just takes some getting used to.

Hi Junior:

I am glad you brought up the question. I do not have as new as a rig as you,
but the answers are interesting to read. On the older Kenwood I have, there
used to be a tone board one could buy and install. Then one adjusted the
board to the tone you wanted before putting the cover back on the rig. The
concept of being able to change the tone without taking the cover off the
rig is ffascinating to me.

I have had variable CTCSS on my hand helds over the years, but never on the
HF rig.

God bless,
Mark

Just put it on the memory you want to change, then go through the steps to
change the tone you want to change, function 6 for CTCSS as I always use if
at all remotely possible, or function 4 if you just want to transmit the
tone.
