Field Day brought me to the ham shack and while there I rejuvinated
my old Icom IC27H and IC47a. I think they are over 25 years old but
still seem to work. I also came across an Icom IC28h which I believe
is not particularly accessible but probably can be set up with what
memories exist in the radio and be useful. Also I found a Kenwood
TM241 which is a 2 meter transceiver, again not particularly
accessible but back in the day I had the memories loaded and it was
enough to work local repeaters and listen to the local fire
departments. I had a Word manual but it seems to be corrupted (from
hanging around me, I suppose)! Finally I found a smaller Kenwood; I
forget its model number but it has a RJ45 mike input and the speaker
is on the front right side of the panel. Again, I have no
documentation. I can probably get someone to give me the model
number in a day or so. It is a 2 meter only transceiver, perhaps 50
watts. I acquired so much stuff when I had a higher paying job!!
Field Day showed me that my G5RV isn't working at all well on 15
meters and my Carolina Windem is down on one end. I shall have to
recruit some help and get things back in decent order.
So, anyone with any documentation, I'd love to hear from you. I will
check I can work this thing after I finish this note. Shoulda done
that first, shouldn't I!!
Thanks all.
Pat, K9JAU
