I missed that part.
You need some DVD codecs. You probably had some software , like Sonic
installed previously that handled this.You can find that and reinstall
it, or download the XP Codec pack:
http://www.xpcodecpack.com/
VLC media player will also solve this:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
